At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut - part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.
It’s the year 2044, and the real world is an ugly place.
Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes his grim surroundings by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that lets you be anything you want to be, a place where you can live and play and fall in love on any of 10,000 planets.
And like most of humanity, Wade dreams of being the one to discover the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this virtual world. For somewhere inside this giant networked playground, OASIS creator James Halliday has hidden a series of fiendish puzzles that will yield massive fortune - and remarkable power - to whoever can unlock them.

By utilizing the Amazon Audible deal I could listen to the full Ready Player One Audiobook free of charge for 30 days. I really enjoyed the audiobook and how it has so many dimensions to it, and taking inspiration from some of my favorite movies. Ready Player One is definitely my favorite of Ernest CLine's audiobooks, but Armada was also a great one which I read instead of listened to.
I also have to give a good word for the amazing narrator Wil Wheaton. Wil Wheaton has narrated all Ernest Cline's audiobooks, and he really does an amazing job in putting characters to life and giving them personality through his narrating.
Wil Wheaton's audiobooks can also be found and listened to for free here.

“One of my favorite apps. I drive alot and Audible lets me get through a ton of books. They are great about returning books I don’t like. I also love that I can put it on any device and pick up right where I left off.”
“Just wonderful, I never had time to read except in the 10 minutes before bed, by then I’m already falling asleep and have to re-read the next night as it didn’t retain. Now I can listen to books while travelling, doing the housework, getting ready for work each morning. I’m getting through all the books I’ve been meaning to read for years in just a couple of months.”
“Love, love, love it! Flexible listening options and a fantastic selection of audiobooks. Definitely recommend.”
